The film has been released in 5 languages but Hindi and its original language Kannada have been the two engines for the film, with Hindi having a slight edge with it contributing Rs 194.71 crore.But the period after Diwali vacation has been very hard for most films including Kantara 2 as the film hit its lowest mark in each and every language. In Kannada it earned just Rs 72 lakh while in Hindi the film earned Rs 1.81crore , in comparison on Thursday Kannada version had minted Rs 1.85 crore and Hindi was at Rs 3.75 crore- both languages fell by more than 50 % on Friday. This is the first time that Kantara 2’s Kannada version couldn’t cross Rs 1 crore mark and Hindi version couldn’t cross Rs 2 crore mark.
There could be multiple reasons for this – with Diwali vacations coming to an end audiences are getting back into work mode and second reason could that film is already in its 4th week and most people to whom the film appealed have already seen the film and now have two new releases in 
But with the weekend here- the film has another chance to redeem itself and cover up lost ground and once again start its journey towards the Rs 600 crore mark and become the highest grossing film of the year beating Vicky Kaushal and Laxman Utekar’s
