Delhi shocker: Delivery boy poses as army officer, rapes woman he met on Instagram; arrested
A 27-year-old Safdarjung Hospital employee alleged rape by a delivery boy who befriended her on Instagram, impersonating an Army Lieutenant. The accused, Aarav Malik, maintained contact for months, sent uniform photos, and then allegedly established physical relations under false pretenses. He has since been arrested.

NEW DELHI: A 27-year-old woman employed at Safdarjung Hospital has alleged that a delivery boy raped her after befriending her on Instagram and impersonating an Army Lieutenant, police said on Monday.The complainant told police that she met the accused, identified as Aarav Malik, through Instagram.Between April 30 and September 27, Malik allegedly maintained regular contact with her on Instagram and WhatsApp, posing as an Army Lieutenant posted in Kashmir. To make his claim appear genuine, he reportedly sent her photos of himself in a military uniform.Police said that Malik later visited the complainant’s residence, offered her something to eat, and then established physical relations with her under false pretences.Following her complaint, a case under Sections 64(1)/351/319/123/335 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered on October 16 at SJ Enclave Police Station.The accused, a resident of Chhattarpur, New Delhi, was subsequently arrested. Investigations revealed that Malik works as a delivery boy for a popular e-commerce platform and had purchased the Army uniform online from a shop in Delhi Cantt.(The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)(With agencies inputs)
