Delhi shocker: 2 Nigerians found dead in clothing showroom; probe on

NEW DELHI: The bodies of two Nigerian nationals have been found on the first floor of a clothing showroom located in southwest Delhi’s Dabri on Sunday.According to police, two Nigerian nationals were found dead on the first floor of a building in Chanakya Place, Uttam Nagar. The showroom, located behind a clothing godown, was reportedly rented by an individual identified as Henry. Upon being alerted early Sunday morning, police promptly reached the location, securing the scene of the crime.An investigation team, along with experts from the forensic science laboratory, inspected the premises.According to initial findings, there were no visible external injuries on the deceased, and no signs of foul play were observed. The bodies were identified as those of Joshep and Chibitern, both Nigerian nationals. They were subsequently shifted to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay mortuary.Preliminary inquiries revealed that the two were residing in the Burari area of north Delhi and travelled to Chanakya Place a day before their deaths. The purpose of their visit remains unclear and is currently under investigation, said police.Officials said that while early signs do not suggest any criminal involvement, the case remains under close scrutiny. “We are verifying the circumstances that led to the death and gathering local intelligence. The post-mortem report will provide clearer insights,” a senior police officer said.Meanwhile, police are also reviewing CCTV footage from the area to trace the movements of the deceased and identify any suspicious activity.
