NEW DELHI: A 28-year-old sales manager from Faridabad was stabbed to death and another man injured late on Tuesday night following a violent confrontation near the Paper Market area of Ghazipur in east Delhi.The deceased, identified as Vikas Walecha, worked as a Sales Manager at Dream Investor, Sector-5, Noida. Police said he was brought dead to Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) Hospital with multiple stab wounds. His colleague, Sumit Sharma from Ghaziabad, suffered a leg fracture in the same incident and is undergoing treatment.Altercation escalates to deadly attackAccording to police, Walecha and other colleagues were celebrating a birthday on the night of July 30 when a previous altercation with a momo vendor—identified as Salman—came up during conversation. The group, travelling in three cars, decided to go to the Paper Market near the CNG Pump to confront him.Around 10.30 pm, the group spotted Salman near a wine shop. “Upon seeing them, Salman allegedly picked up an iron rod and called his associates—Azad Kumar Mishra, Monu Mishra, and a juvenile. A scuffle broke out, during which Walecha was stabbed multiple times,” a police officer said.Sumit Sharma was also assaulted and sustained a serious leg injury.Four teams were formed under the supervision of senior officers. These included members of the Anti-Narcotics Squad, Special Staff, AATS, and Ghazipur police station. Officers scanned CCTV and ANPR footage from the area to track down the suspects.“Thanks to the quick and coordinated efforts, three adult accused and one child in conflict with law (CCL) were apprehended within a few hours,” said a senior officer.Those arrested include, Salman Khan (24), Azad Kumar Mishra (31), Monu Mishra (28) and a 13-year-old boy.All are residents of Rama Krishna Enclave, Khoda Colony, Ghaziabad. Police have recovered the knife and iron rod used in the attack.
