New Delhi: Days after a woman was fatally hit near Yamuna Bridge, Delhi Police arrested a private firm manager in connection with the case.Police received information around 2:32 pm on Oct 25 regarding an accident. The injured woman was taken to LNJP Hospital, where she was declared brought dead. A case was registered under Sections 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 106(2) (causing death by negligence) of the BNS.DCP (Central) Nidhin Valsan formed a team under SHO IP Estate Ghanshyam Kishore. The team analysed several CCTV footage from cameras installed along the Yamuna Bridge stretch.“Based on the initial analysis, around 40–50 vehicles were shortlisted, and their owners were contacted and examined. During the enquiry, one driver informed that the offending vehicle was a white car fleeing towards Sachivalaya Bhawan,” DCP Valsan said.The vehicle was found to be registered in the name of Kushal Pal Tomer, a resident of Daryaganj. The suspect was traced and apprehended along with the offending car.During interrogation, Tomer stated that he was driving towards his residence when the accident occurred. He panicked and fled from the scene.
