NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police have taken into custody four individuals, including three minors, for allegedly stabbing a 15-year-old boy in northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri. The boy, who was out on bail in a theft case, was attacked as an act of revenge over a previous quarrel, officials reported on Thursday. The adult involved in the incident has been identified as Gautam, a 21-year-old resident of Jahangirpuri. According to a senior police officer, the conflict originated from a prior altercation over a minor issue between the victim and one of the minor accused while both were in jail. After the victim was released about a month ago, he allegedly attempted to attack one of the accused, who managed to escape. In an effort to “settle scores,” the accused attacked the victim on October 25 in Jahangirpuri, the officer explained.“Information was received from the BJRM Hospital about the admission of an injured boy who had sustained stab wounds,” the officer stated, noting that the boy was later transferred to the RML Hospital for further treatment.A case was filed at the Jahangirpuri police station, and a team was assembled to identify and capture the attackers. Police conducted raids at several suspected hideouts based on local intelligence. “Police arrested Gautam and apprehended three juveniles for their involvement in the attack. During interrogation, they confessed to their role in the incident,” the officer added.(With agency inputs)
